Hazlehurst Print

John is self taught and represents the built environment and the intimate spaces therin through multi impression lino prints. He is particularly interested in the industrial heritage left by previous generations. In addition his love of horticulture and landscape are evident.

 

Images to date have been small scale and produced on an old book press.

 

Influences include Edward Bawden, Ian Phillips, Mark Pearce and Jennie Ing.

 

He yearns for more comments like those from The Brindley Open Exhibition selection panel who stated “this is .. such a simple little print which is equally clever in composition and in technique. This piece caught our eye early on and as works come in and out of the running this one was constantly there” about his print The Radiator Man.
